Ahmed El Safty Another Entrepreneur Dragged Down By Dirty Journalism
One must ask the question why local newspapers like the Gold Coast Bulletin get off by dragging the good clean reputation of local business people and entrepreneurs names through the mud.
In my opinion the Gold Coast Bulletin has become nothing more than a rubbish based publication. Sure the Gold Coast Bulletin has some purpose this would include window cleaning material and bagging out people on an ongoing basis. Why is it so hard to read good quality positive local news articles? Well that is simple, rubbish publications sell more newspapers when they publish negative crap.
Now lets take a closer look at Ahmed El Safty quite clearly he has become another victim of the GFC just like his tenants of his formerly owned Burleigh Heads Beachfront property but does this make him a bad person? No it does not. Lets take a look at who the real criminals are “The Banks” the banks are nothing more than huge Ponzi scheme operators. Imaging this if we all took our money out of the banks for just one day could or would the banks be able to honour their commitments? No, they could not so who are the real criminals here?
As I read over the Gold Coast Bulletins rubbish article on Ahmed El Safty it made my blood boil to read this The Egyptian-born businessman has been dogged by a series of controversies, including high-profile stoushes with tenants, falling behind on Crown-land lease repayments and a long-running battle with the council over a proposed rooftop bar for the pavilion.
It was funny how the Gold Coast Bulletin they failed to report that Mr El Safty was on a deferred payment plan with the Queensland State Government. The developer and the tenant also built the rooftop structure with certified approval by a legal certifier that the Gold Coast City Council were 100% aware of. The GCCC issued a show clause notice as to why the bar should still continue an then after meeting with the GCCC with all solicitors present the show cause notice was withdrawn and the construction allowed to continue. After construction was completed at great expense to Mr El Safty the GCCC again issued legal proceedings. During the legal proceedings the appeal judges agreed with Mr El Safty’s argument that the roof top space did not come under the definition of “total use area” but they did say a new operation was commencing and on that basis refused the appeal. This meant that Mr El Safty could have had any of his residing tenants make use of this area. In closing one must question how the lawyers could represent both the GCCC and the banks against Mr El Safty’s company. Wouldn’t this be considered a conflict of legal jurisdiction?
Directly across the road a residential property was allowed to be developed in to a restaurant without a material change of use application Mr El Safty stated.
What do they mean by The Egyptian-born businessman how racist is this comment? it does not matter where you are born where you come from why do they need to publish such a comment? I am sure Ahmed El Safty bleeds the same colour blood as the rest of the global population and breathes the same oxygen as us. As far as I am concerned this is just another case of tall poppy syndrome and cheap degrading News Limited Journalism, but we don’t need to shine any more light on them just remember who was responsible for the English phone hacking scandals, News Corporation. Good journalism tactics Murdoch, I think not.
One might ask the question do we need a real Gold Coast newspaper that has credibility and publishes quality based stories? I will leave that to you all to decide or register today to have your say.
